Seismic sources of InSight marsquakes and seismotectonic context of Elysium Planitia, Mars

چکیده
Since early 2019, the InSight mission has proven that Mars is seismically active, with more than 900 seismic events recorded. Among them, several have characteristics close to terrestrial tectonic earthquakes. Most of these are located on major graben system Cerberus fossae and, a little further north, secondary Grjotá Valles. In this study, we invert moment tensors for nine marsquakes characterized by high quality data. Seven them fossae/Grjotá Valles and two near Martian dichotomy. Study of a 15 Km Crater with Diverse Morphology, Elysium Planitia, Mars
Introduction: The recent missions to Mars with diverse instruments have provided a new perspective for the study of Martian surface landforms. They have permitted the characterization of over 40,000 impact craters ≥ 5 km in diameter [1], showing a diverse cratering record with some quite unusual morphologies. Changes in crater morphology are thought to reflect the impact energy and target prope...
متن کاملThe Anomalous Radar Transparency of Central Elysium Planitia and Amazonis Planitia
Introduction: The Shallow Radar instrument (SHARAD) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) has been successful at penetrating into icy deposits [1-3], but most of the rocky units are opaque to SHARAD. The main exceptions to this are the youngest major volcanic surfaces, Cerberus Fossae 2 and 3 units and Amazonis Planitia 2 north unit [4]. We suggest that these units have low radar loss becaus...
متن کاملon the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning
the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...
15 صفحه اولthe effects of keyword and context methods on pronunciation and receptive/ productive vocabulary of low-intermediate iranian efl learners: short-term and long-term memory in focus
15 صفحه اولlexical decomposition awareness and its effect on delayed receptive and productive recognition and recall of vocabulary knowledge of morphologically complex english words: an iranian efl context
abstract lexical knowledge of complex english words is an important part of language skills and crucial for fluent language use (nation, 2001). the present study, thus, was an attempt to assess the role of morphological decomposition awareness as a vocabulary learning strategy on learners’ productive and receptive recall and recognition of complex english words. so 90 sophomores (female and ma...
